Product description

The ultra-powerful Fenix LR50R rechargeable flashlight delivers an extreme lumen output of up to 12,000 lumens (ANSI) and a range of up to 950 meters. It achieves its performance with four powerful Luminus SST-70 LEDs with a lifetime of 50,000 hours of illumination, which are powered by an internal high-current Li-ion battery with a capacity of 57.6 Wh. The battery is recharged directly in the flashlight via a modern USB-C connector. The luminaire offers two-button control, which separately controls the steady and flash modes.

The flashlight is equipped with indicator LEDs that show the state of charge of the battery. In addition, the flashlight can also be used as an emergency power bank to charge other USB-C devices. The body of the lamp is also equipped with a tripod thread, so it can be mounted on a tripod and used as a stationary light. Despite its enormous power, the flashlight retains surprisingly compact dimensions, measuring just 16.3 centimetres in length and weighing 980 grams including the battery. This searchlight is particularly suitable for rescue and reconnaissance operations. But it is also perfectly suited for guarding large objects or for all enthusiasts of luminaires.

All luminaire parameters (luminous flux, battery life, waterproofness, range, and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009.

Parameters of the lamp Fenix LR50R:

• The light source is four high-end LED Luminus SST-70 with a lifetime of 50000 hours of light.
• 8 lighting modes in total:
  • Permanent modes: 12000 lumens (1.80 hours) -> 6000 lumens (2.30 hours) -> 3000 lumens (2.60 hours) -> 1000 lumens (7.60 hours) -> 350 lumens (24 hours) - > 50 lumens (58 hours).
  • Flash modes: strobe (6000 lumens) -> SOS (350 lumens).
• It uses a high-current Li-ion battery ARB-L52-16000 with a capacity of 16000 mAh / 3.6 V (57.6 Wh). It can also be replaced with 1-4 separate 21700 Li-ion batteries in a pinch, but the highest modes will not be available with them.
• Charging via USB-C with support for PD3.0 / PD2.0, QC3.0 / QC2.0 fast charging protocols. Charging time 4.5-16 hours depending on the power of the power supply used.
• Digitally controlled for constant brightness and with overheat protection.
• The proximity sensor in the reflector will automatically reduce the output to 50 lumens when the luminaire gets closer to an object than approx. 6-8 centimetres (prevents damage to the object by strong light and glare from reflected light).
• The aluminium reflector offers a range of up to 950 metres (225,750 cd).
• The electronics are equipped with a protection function against too deep discharge of the batteries, when the voltage drops below a certain threshold, it automatically switches to a lower power mode.
• The lamp has a memory and can be switched on in the last set mode (not valid for flash modes).
• Battery charge indication (only functional when using the original battery Fenix ARB-L52-16000).

Use

There may be an insulating cap on the battery from the factory. Remove it before first use.

Holding down the right button for 0.5 seconds will switch the luminaire to the last set steady light mode. Further presses to switch between power modes, holding the button again switches the lamp off. Holding down the left button turns the lamp on to the highest mode of 12000 lumens, further presses of the left button activate the strobe and then the SOS. You can get back to the last steady light mode by pressing the right button.

The control buttons can be locked to prevent them from switching on spontaneously, e.g. when transporting in luggage - in the off state, press and hold both buttons for at least 3 seconds, then the lamp will flash to indicate locking. To unlock, both buttons must be held down again for three seconds. Unintentional switching on can also be prevented by loosening the lamp body.

Charging - flip off the rubber cap of the charging connector and plug the cable into the USB-C connector in the flashlight. The indicator LEDs will flash from left to right to show the charging status. Only the 50 lumen mode can be switched on during charging. When charging is complete, seal the connector thoroughly with the rubber cap. Not only common USB adapters and power banks can be used for charging, but also fast charging adapters with PD3.0/PD2.0, QC3.0/QC2 protocol will be automatically detected.

Charging external USB-C devices (power bank function) - flip off the rubber cap of the USB-C connector and use a suitable USB cable to connect the device (only USB-C devices can be charged with the included cable) you want to charge. To activate the powerbank function, press one of the control buttons briefly. When charging starts, the indicator LEDs flash from right to left to indicate the battery status. The maximum discharge current are 2A. When you're done charging, be sure to properly seal the USB-C connector with the rubber cap.

Indication of the battery charge status - after a short press of any button, the indicator LEDs light up for 8 seconds to show the battery charge status (the lamp must be switched off). Four lit LEDs mean the battery is 80-100% charged, three lit 60-80%, two lit 40-60%, one lit 20-40% and one flashing LED means the battery is less than 20% charged. The indication is only functional with the original battery.

Intelligent overheating protection - when the temperature exceeds 60°C, the luminaire automatically reduces the power in small steps up to 3000 lumens, after cooling down the power will automatically increase again. Operation on the highest Turbo mode (12000 lumens) is timed for 20 seconds, then the luminaire will reduce output to 8000 lumens for 60 seconds. If the second highest level (6000 lumens) is selected for more than 60 seconds, the output is then reduced to 4000 lumens for the next 60 seconds.

Notice

• Do not disassemble the sealed parts of the luminaire yourself, this will violate the warranty.
• If the protective rubber rings appear damaged after prolonged use, replace them. The rings also need to be lubricated to prevent erosion of the rubber. By following these rules, the luminaire will be properly protected against water.
• If the lamp flickers, does not switch to higher power modes or does not light up, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
  • The battery is dead, charge it.
  • The contacts inside the lamp are dirty - clean them with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.
  • The body is loose, tighten it.

Warranty

Warranty five years on the lamp, two years on the battery.
