Product description

Thanks to its weight of only 91 grams, the Fenix HL18R-T headlamp will serve well as a running headlamp as well as a headlamp for camping, hiking and other outdoor activities.

The Fenix HL18R-T compact rechargeable headlamp delivers up to 500 lumens (ANSI) and a range of up to 82 meters. Power is provided by a replaceable 1300 mAh lithium-polymer battery, which is charged via a micro-USB connector directly in the headlamp. The battery can be removed and replaced with three regular AAA batteries in an emergency (they cannot be recharged in the headlamp). The light source is a modern Cree XP-G3 LED with a neutral light shade, which is placed in the main reflector. Two white Everlight 2835 LEDs are used for additional illumination, which creates a wide and very smooth cone of light.

A total of 5 power modes are available, including an SOS flash mode for crisis situations. The headlamp is also equipped with an upgraded battery life extension function. With prolonged use of individual light modes, the headlamp gradually reduces power in small increments to achieve longer light duration. However, the reduction in performance is not as pronounced as with the older HL18R headlamp.

The headband features a wide strap with the new Sport Fit System with a single rotary wheel for easy strap length adjustment. On your head, you can quickly and comfortably tighten the headlamp with one hand. The strap is also perforated and fitted with reflective elements to ensure passive visibility when running on the road. All headlamp parameters (luminous flux, battery life, waterproofness, range, and shock resistance) are measured in accordance with ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009.

Use

The main spotlight is switched on and off by pressing the right button for 0.5 seconds, the auxiliary LEDs are switched on and off by holding the left button. The main spotlight always switches to 200 lumens mode, the additional LEDs switch to 30 lumens mode, the other power levels can be switched at any time during operation by briefly pressing the corresponding button. The main spotlight and auxiliary LEDs cannot be activated simultaneously.

Using the rotary wheel to adjust the length of the head strap: To tighten the strap, press the wheel and turn it clockwise. To loosen the strap, pull the wheel and loosen the strap.

Indication of the battery charge status - after a short press of the left button (the headlamp must be switched off), the LED indicator of the battery charge status on the bottom of the headlamp is activated. Four lit LEDs mean the battery is over 80% charged, three lit 60-80%, two lit 40-60%, one lit 20-40%, and one flashing LED means the battery is less than 20% charged.

The control buttons can be locked to prevent spontaneous switching on, e.g. when transporting in luggage - keep both buttons pressed for 3 seconds. To unlock, hold both buttons again for 3 seconds.

Overheat protection - If the internal temperature of the headlamp exceeds 65°C, it will automatically reduce the power.

Charging

• Unclip the rubber cap of the micro USB connector on the bottom of the headlamp and use the included USB cable to plug it into a computer, power bank, USB AC adapter or USB car adapter. Alternatively, any mobile phone charger with a micro USB connector can be used for charging.
• During charging, the four indicator LEDs on the underside gradually light up, after a full charge they all light up permanently.
• Charging time for a fully discharged battery takes about 2.5 hours.
• The battery used does not suffer from memory effect, so the headlamp can be recharged at any time.
• Thoroughly seal the USB connector cap after each charge.
• During charging, the headlamp can be switched on, but only to the lowest mode.

Notice

• Do not disassemble the sealed parts yourself, this will violate the warranty.
• Never use different discharged AAA batteries or batteries with different capacities.
• Always check carefully that the batteries are inserted in the headlamp with the correct polarity.
• If the headlamp is flickering, not switching to higher power modes or not lighting up, it could be due to one of the following reasons:
  • The battery is almost dead - charge it.
