Fenix HM51R Ruby V2.0

Product description

The Fenix HM51R headlamp is a limited edition headlamp based on the Fenix HM50R headlamp and offers a number of improvements. For example, warmer light tint, magnetic end cap, constant control in most modes, multiple red light modes and more.

The second generation of the very popular Fenix HM51R Ruby V2.0 rechargeable headlamp offers up to 700 lumens (ANSI) of neutral white light (4500K) with a range of up to 120 meters and also features red LEDs. It is powered by one rechargeable battery type RCR123A (included), which is recharged directly in the lamp via a modern USB-C connector, alternatively it is possible to use a disposable lithium battery CR123A (with a limited max. power of 150 lumens). In addition, there is an indicator LED in the control button so you will always know when to recharge the battery. The end of the lamp is magnetic, so it can be easily attached to anything iron. The HM51R has nine different lighting modes, allowing you to choose between high power and long life (up to 120 hours). The luminaire is powered by digitally controlled constant current to guarantee constant light output even when the voltage in the batteries is reduced (when they are slowly discharged).

The all-metal construction ensures high durability, optimal cooling and is also fully waterproof according to IP68 standard up to a depth of 2 meters underwater. The practicality of the headlamp is enhanced by the ability to remove the light from the head holder and use it as a small pocket torch. In addition, the headlamp is equipped with a steel removable buckle, so you can easily attach it to your pocket or strap. Headlamp Fenix HM51R V2.0 is the ideal companion for a variety of sports activities, trips to the outdoors and home and work. All luminaire parameters (luminous flux, battery life, waterproofness, range, and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009.

Headlamp parameters Fenix HM51R Ruby V2.0:
- It uses a premium performance LED SST-20 with neutral light tint (4500 K) and a lifetime of 50000 hours and two red Everlight LEDs.
- Five white light modes: 700 lumens (0.5 hours) -> 400 lumens (1.5 hours) -> 150 lumens (2.5 hours) -> 50 lumens (8 hours) -> 3 lumens (120 hours)
- Four red light modes: 5 lumens (36 hours) -> 1 lumen (100 hours) -> red flashing 5 lumens (72 hours) -> SOS 5 lumens (72 hours)
- Measured with Li-ion battery Fenix RCR123A with a capacity of 700 mAh (included).
- It uses one Li-ion battery Fenix RCR123A 700 mAh. which is included in the package.
- In a pinch, a single disposable 3V CR123A lithium battery can also be used for power, but the highest available mode will be 130 lumens.
- Digital constant power control.
- Charging via the USB-C connector on the side of the headlamp, the charging time of a fully discharged battery is about 1.5 hours.
- Smooth light cone with a range of up to 120 metres (3690 cd)
- 66 mm length x 36 mm width x 32 mm height (including headlamp holder).
- 80 grams (including strap and battery), 61 grams (without battery).
- Battery capacity indication and low voltage warning.
- The lamp has a memory and always switches on in the last set mode (applies to both white and red light).
- Magnetic end cap, the headlamp can be attached to anything iron.
- Protection against reverse insertion of the battery (reverse polarity).
- The cleverly designed holder also functions as a buckle if you take the headlamp off the strap.
- Comfortable perforated strap with reflective elements.
- Easy to operate with one switch.
- Body made of high strength A6061-T6 aerospace aluminum alloy.
- Durable hard scratch resistant surface - Type III hard anodized.
- Dustproof and waterproof to IP68 standard (tested underwater at a depth of 2 meters for 4 hours).
- Shock-resistant to falls from a height of 2 metres.
- High quality TIR optics with high light transmission.
- Includes HM51R headlamp, ARB-L16-700P battery, spare o-ring, USB-C charging cable, steel clip.
- The headlamp can be purchased with a case Fenix APB-20 and a set of black straps AFH-02 without reflective elements. Suitable for hunting, military or police, for example.
- The headlamp can be attached to the Lockblock and Bikeblock handlebar mounts when removed from the holder.
- It is also possible to purchase a USB mains adapter and a USB car adapter or a spare battery RCR123A with micro-USB connector or a spare battery with a higher capacity of 800 mAh.

There may be a black insulating cap on the battery inside the luminaire at the factory. Remove it from the battery before first use.

The off headlamp is switched to the last used white light mode by holding the button for 0.5 seconds.
The off headlamp is switched to the last used red light mode by pressing the button twice quickly.
The headlamp is switched off by holding the button for 0.5 seconds.
As long as the headlamp is switched on, the power modes can be cyclically switched by short presses of the button in the sequence 3 - 50 - 150 - 400 - 700 lumens (when switched on to white light) or red 1 lumen - red 5 lumens - red flashing - red SOS (when switched on to red light). The lamp has a memory and always switches on in the last set mode (applies to both white and red light).

Overheating protection: operation on the highest mode is limited to 1 minute, then the power is gradually reduced to approx. 500 lumens over 5 minutes. If the internal temperature of the luminaire rises above 60°C, it will automatically start to further reduce the power in gradual steps until the temperature stabilizes. As soon as the temperature of the lamp drops below 60°C, the output will gradually increase again. Operation in 400 lumens mode is limited to 5 minutes, then the output is gradually reduced to 200 lumens over 5 minutes.

Indication of the battery charge status: after a short press of the button (the headlamp must be switched off), the LED indicator in the button is activated. If the indicator LED is green, the battery is more than 80% charged. Green flashing means 50-80% capacity. If it glows red, it is 20-50% charged. Red flashing indicates that less than 20% of the battery capacity remains. The indication only works properly with RCR123A / 16340 rechargeable batteries.

Charging: remove the rubber cap of the charging connector and plug the included cable into the lamp (USB-C connector), plug the other end of the cable into a computer, power bank or USB mains or car adapter (not included). The side button lights red while charging and turns green when fully charged. After charging the lamp, seal the charging connector again with the rubber cap. Charging a fully discharged battery takes about 1.5 hours. In an emergency, the flashlight can also be used while charging, but only the 5 lumen white and red modes will be available.

Low battery alert: If the battery voltage drops below the set level, the headlamp will automatically switch to lower power modes. If the headlamp is already switched to the lowest power mode and the battery is critically low, the indicator in the button will flash red. However, the headlamp will continue to shine until the battery is fully discharged. Note: the low battery warning is calibrated only on the voltage of rechargeable Li-ion batteries.

Locking the headlamp against unwanted switching on: loosen the battery cap of the headlamp by a quarter turn, this breaks the electrical contact and the headlamp cannot be switched on. The button can also be locked electronically - hold the button down for 3 seconds when the headlamp is switched off. The lamp flashes red when locked. To unlock, hold the button again for 3 seconds.

Notice
- Do not disassemble the sealed part in the lamp head yourself, this will breach the warranty.
- If using a disposable CR123A battery, do not attempt to charge it in the lamp.
- If the protective rubber rings appear damaged after prolonged use, replace them. The rings also need to be lubricated to prevent erosion of the rubber. By following these rules, the luminaire will be properly protected against water.

If the lamp is flickering, not switching to higher power modes, or not lighting up, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
- The battery is almost dead - charge it or replace it.
- The contacts inside the lamp are dirty - clean them with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.
- The rear of the lamp is loose - tighten it.
- Five years warranty on the lamp, two years warranty on the battery.
