Fenix HM70R

Product description

The Fenix HM70R Headlamp is an extremely powerful rechargeable headlamp that offers a light output of up to 1600 lumens. Also included is a rechargeable Li-ion battery type 21700 with a capacity of 5000 mAh, which is charged directly in the headlamp via the USB-C connector. The headlamp is equipped with several light sources, the long-distance reflector is equipped with LED Luminus SST-40, which illuminates up to a distance of 186 meters. The second, wide reflector is equipped with a Cree XP-G2 HE LED with a warmer shade (neutral white) of 400 lumens, which has a very wide and smooth light footprint. The headlamp also has a red light with a power of 5 lumens. The red light is able to shine on the lowest mode for almost 17 days and can flash continuously for more than 33 days.

The lightweight aluminium alloy construction ensures high durability, optimal cooling and is also fully waterproof to IP68 standard up to 2 metres underwater. The Fenix HM70R headlamp is an excellent choice for those who demand top performance and extreme battery life. It will be appreciated by cyclists, cavers, mountain guides, ski mountaineers, climbers, rescuers, but also by industrial workers and ordinary tourists or fishermen. All luminaire parameters (luminous flux, battery life, waterproofness, range, and impact resistance) measured in accordance with ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009.

Parameters of the rechargeable headlamp Fenix HM70R:
- It uses a powerful Cree XP-G2 HE LED with neutral white light tint, a Luminus SST-40 LED with daylight white light tint and two complementary red Everlight 2835 LEDs with a lifetime of 50,000 hours.
- Remote reflector: 1600 lumens (2 hours) -> 500 lumens (6 hours) -> 150 lumens (30 hours) -> 30 lumens (100 hours).
- Wide spotlight: 400 lumens (8 hours) -> 70 lumens (48 hours) -> red 5 lumens (400 hours) -> red flashing 5 lumens (800 hours).
- Luminous flux and endurance times are measured with the included 5000 mAh Li-ion 21700 battery.
- The long-range reflector produces a light cone with a range of 186 metres (8667 cd), the wide reflector shines up to 38 metres (352 cd) and the red light has a range of 5 metres (8 cd).
- Electronics with digital regulation, reverse battery insertion protection and overheating protection.
- It uses a single rechargeable Li-ion 21700 battery for power, which is included in the package. In case of emergency, a single 18650 Li-ion battery can also be used, but an ALF-18 reducer must be purchased.
- Memory of the last set power mode.
- The headlamp can be rotated in the holder over a wide range to set the desired direction of light.
- Made of solid aluminium alloy with a hard to scratch surface - Type III hard anodized.
- Waterproof to IP68 standard (tested underwater at a depth of 2 meters).
- Headlamp dimensions: 9,45 cm x 5,1 cm x 4,6 cm.
- Weight 206 grams (including battery and strap).
- Shock-resistant to falls from a height of 2 metres.
- Tempered ultra clear glass lens with anti-reflective surface.
- Included is a headlamp, Fenix 21700 5000 mAh battery, USB cable, head straps and a spare o-ring.
- The headlamp can be purchased with a Fenix APB-30 case, a USB mains adapter and a USB car adapter.
- For easy attachment to the helmet, the Fenix ALG-03 mount can be purchased.

Use
- There may be a white insulating cap on the battery inside the luminaire at the factory. Remove it from the battery before first use.
- The off headlamp is switched on to the last used remote reflector mode by holding the button for 0.5 seconds (except when switched off in the highest mode, then the next time it is switched on in the second highest mode).
- The off headlamp is switched to red wide reflector mode with a double quick press of the button.
- The headlamp is switched off by holding the button for 0.5 seconds.
- When the headlamp is switched on, it is possible to switch between the main and wide reflector by holding the button for 1.2 seconds. It is not possible to run both reflectors at the same time.
- As long as the headlamp is switched on, the power modes can be cyclically switched by short presses of the button in the sequence 30 - 150 - 500 - 1600 lumens (when the high beam reflector is switched on) or red 5 lumens - white 30 lumens - white 400 lumens - red blinking (when the wide beam reflector is switched on). The lamp has a memory for the remote reflector and will always turn on in the last set mode (except when turned off in the highest mode, then the next time it will turn on in the second highest mode). With a wide spotlight, it always starts in the red light.
- Indication of the battery charge status: after a short press of the button (the headlamp must be switched off), the LED indicator of the battery charge status in the button is activated. Green light indicates that the battery is 85-100% charged, flashing green light at 50-85%, red light 25-50%, flashing red light less than 25%.
- Locking the headlamp against unwanted switching on: loosen the battery cap of the headlamp by a quarter turn, this breaks the electrical contact and the headlamp cannot be switched on. The button can also be locked electronically - hold the button down for 3 seconds when the headlamp is switched off. The lamp flashes red when locked. To unlock, hold the button again for 3 seconds.
- Overheating protection: if the temperature of the headlamp exceeds 65°C, it will automatically start to reduce the power in gradual steps until the temperature is stabilized. Once the temperature drops below 65°C, the highest power modes can be used again.
- Low battery alert: If the battery voltage drops below the set level, the headlamp will automatically switch to lower power modes. If the headlamp is already switched to the lowest power mode and the battery is critically low, the indicator in the button will flash red. However, the headlamp will continue to shine until the battery is fully discharged. Note: the low battery warning is calibrated only on the voltage of rechargeable Li-ion batteries.

Charging
Unscrew the waterproof nut on the side that covers the USB-C connector. Plug the USB-C charging cable into the headlamp and the other end into the USB connector on your computer, USB power adapter or USB car adapter. Alternatively, any mobile phone charger with a USB-C connector can be used for charging. The side button lights red while charging and turns green when fully charged. Charging time for a fully discharged battery takes about 4 hours. The Li-ion battery used does not suffer from memory effect, so the headlamps can be recharged at any time. After charging, tighten the waterproof nut again. The headlamp can be used while charging, but only the 150 lumens remote reflector mode is available.

Notice
- Do not disassemble the sealed parts yourself, this will violate the warranty.
- If the headlamp blinks, does not switch to higher power modes, or does not light up, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
- The battery is almost dead - charge it or replace it.
- The headlamp cap is loose - tighten it.
- The electrical contacts are dirty - clean them with a cotton bud dipped in alcohol.
- Warranty five years on the headlamp, two years on the battery.
