Fenix HM75R

Product description

The Fenix HM75R rechargeable headlamp has two light cones with up to 1600 lumens and a powerful red light with up to 120 lumens. The long-range reflector with high-end LED Luminus SST-40 produces a well-focused light beam with a range of up to 223 meters, and the second reflector with high-performance LED Luminus SST-20 has a very wide and smooth light trail with a range of up to 60 meters. The luminous flux of the main beam is up to 1600 lumens, the wide cone reflector offers a maximum output of 1000 lumens and a neutral light tint. The light from both reflectors cannot be combined, it is easy to switch between them with the rotary dial on the side of the headlamp.

The headlamp is powered by a rechargeable 18650 3400 mAh Li-ion battery, which is located inside the headlamp. Plus, it has a removable rear battery case with a 21700 5000 mAh battery for significantly extended light time. The rear battery case can also function as a standalone power bank for charging any USB devices, it connects to the headlamp with a USB-C cable that is equipped with locks against ripping. The headlamp can also be operated without a battery inside, only with power from a power bank via USB-C cable (with slightly reduced maximum power). Also included is a 1 meter USB-C extension cable so that the battery case can be hidden under a jacket to avoid excessive battery hypothermia in winter, etc.

The headlamp is made of lightweight and durable magnesium alloy, its construction is fully dust and waterproof according to IP68 standard and also shockproof against drops from a height of 2 meters.

Thanks to its high performance and durability parameters, the HM75R headlamp is suitable for all those who want a strong and reliable partner in extreme conditions. It is great for rescue workers, but also for athletes, climbers, repairmen, hikers and other outdoor enthusiasts. A nice bonus is the very strong red light.

Using the HM75R headlamp
There may be an insulating cap on the batteries from the factory. Remove them before first use.

The headlamp is switched on and off with the rotary switch on the right side. In the first position, the headlamp is switched off, turning to the second position switches on the high beam mode, turning to the third position switches on the wide beam mode and turning to the fourth position switches on the red beam. The power modes in each position are cycled by pressing a button on the side of the rotary switch.

Memory for last set power mode - The headlamp has a memory and will always turn on in the last set power mode of the selected reflector except for the highest power modes of the main and wide reflectors, instead it will turn on in the second highest mode of that reflector.

Lock the supplied USB-C cable in the connectors - Included USB-C cable to connect the headlamp and battery case. The cable is equipped with locks at both ends to prevent accidental removal from the headlamp or battery case. To lock the cable, plug the USB-C cable into the connector in the headband and battery case and turn the cable ends clockwise. To unlock the cable, turn the end caps counterclockwise and disconnect it.

Intelligent power reduction - The headlamp has a built-in protection circuit. When the spotlight gets closer to the illuminated object (less than 60 mm) for more than 1.5 s, it will automatically reduce the power to low mode to avoid damaging the object with strong light and glare from reflected light. When the reflector is moved away from the illuminated object for more than 0.8 s, the headlamp automatically resumes the previously used power level. Smart Proximity Sensor On/Off - Press the side button on the headlamp for 6 seconds when the headlamp is off. Turning on the function is indicated by the headlamp with two blinks in low mode. Turning off the headlamp function is indicated by eight blinks in low mode.

Intelligent overheat protection - When using the headlamp on high power modes for long periods of time, a large amount of heat accumulates. When the headlamp reaches a temperature of 60 °C or higher, it will automatically reduce the power by a few lumens to lower the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60 °C, the power is gradually increased again.

Headlamp low battery warning - If the battery voltage drops below the set level, the headlamp will automatically switch to a lower mode until it reaches the lowest power mode. When the lowest power level is reached, the battery charge indicator will flash to remind you to recharge or replace the battery.

Charging and powerbank function
Charging the headlamp - Open the dust cover and plug the USB-C charging cable into the headlamp's charging port. Replace the dust cap when charging is complete. In the process of charging, the four indicators on the top of the headlamp gradually light up and flash. Four permanently on indicates that charging is complete. Normal charging time is 4 hours with a 5 V/2.5 A USB power supply for a fully discharged headlamp.
Note: The headlamp can be used in all modes while charging with a 9V USB power supply. The maximum output of the main reflector will be limited to 1200 lumens and the wide reflector to 700 lumens. When charging with a 5 V USB power supply, the headlamp can only be used in the two lowest modes of any reflector. The headlamp flashes several times when first switched on after plugging in the USB power supply to indicate the charging voltage applied. Two flashes indicate charging at 5 V and four flashes indicate charging at 9 V. When powered from a USB source, the headlamp can also be used without the battery inside. Only charge the original Fenix ARB-L18 batteries in the headlamp.

Charging the rear battery case - Flip off the dust cap and plug the USB-C charging cable into the case's charging port. Replace the dust cap when charging is complete. During charging, the indicator in the button on the battery case lights up red. When fully charged, the light turns green.

Rear battery case powerbank function - Flip off the dust cap and plug the USB-C charging cable into the case's charging port. One push of a button on the battery case activates the powerbank function. If the power bank is switched on, it switches off again by pressing the button. After changing the battery in the battery case, the powerbank function will turn on automatically when connected to the headlamp. The power bank supports the following fast charging protocols: PD3.0/PD2.0, QC3.0/QC2.0, FCP, SFCP, PE2.0/PE1.1

Powerbank low load detection function - When the powerbank function on the rear battery case is on, hold down the button on the case for 3 seconds. Activation of the low load detection function is indicated by three red flashes of the indicator LED in the button. Eight red flashes indicate the function has been switched off. This feature is designed to charge USB devices with very low power consumption, such as fitness trackers and wireless headphones. With the low-load detection function enabled, the power bank will automatically stop discharging when the headlamp is fully charged. To restart the power bank, plug the USB-C cable back into it or press the button on the battery case. With the low load detection function disabled, turn off the powerbank function with the button when the headlamp is fully charged to avoid unnecessary battery discharge in the rear battery case.

Battery status indication when the power bank is switched on - If the battery is sufficiently charged, the button on the case flashes green, if the battery voltage drops below 3.2 V, the button flashes red. The power bank function will automatically switch off if the battery voltage drops below 3.0 V.

Indication of the battery charge level in the headlamp - After a short press of any button (the headlamp must be switched off), the LED battery charge indicator on the top of the headlamp is activated. Four lit LEDs mean the battery is 80-100% charged, three lit 60-80%, two lit 40-60%, one lit 20-40% and one flashing LED means the battery is less than 20% charged.

Indication of the battery charge status in the battery case - If the rear battery case is not connected by cable to the headlamp or other USB device, the battery charge status in the case can be detected at the touch of a button. If the indicator LED is green when the button is pressed, the battery is more than 85% charged. Green flashing indicates 50-85% capacity. If it glows red, it is 25-50% charged. Red flashing indicates that less than 25% of the battery capacity remains.

Replacing batteries - Unscrew the cap of the headlamp and insert the battery with the plus pole facing the headlamp. Then tighten the headlamp cap fully again. When replacing the battery in the rear battery case, insert the battery with the plus terminal facing out. If the fasteners are not fully tightened, the headlamp and battery case will not function properly.

Notice
Do not disassemble the sealed parts yourself, this will violate the warranty.
Use only high-quality Li-ion batteries for power supply.
If the headlamp is flickering, not switching to higher power modes, or not lighting up, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
The batteries are almost dead - replace them or recharge the battery.
The contacts in the battery case are dirty - clean them with a cotton bud dipped in alcohol.

Warranty
Warranty five years on the headlamp, two years on the battery.
