Fenix HP35R

The extremely powerful Fenix HP35R rechargeable headlamp offers an unrivaled output of up to 4000 lumens (ANSI) and an afterglow of 450 meters. Excellent performance has been achieved by using a powerful Cree XHP70 LED with a neutral tint and a pair of Luminus SST-20 LEDs with a warm light tint and a high CRI 94.5 (Color Rendering Index). The warm light penetrates fog, rain and snow better, so you'll especially benefit from it in poor weather conditions. The headlamp is equipped with a high beam reflector and a pair of smaller reflectors with a wide cone of light. The reflectors can be switched on individually or they can be started simultaneously in combined mode. With intuitive control via rotary and electronic switches, you can handle every situation with ease.

Comfortable wearing on the head is ensured by a wide perforated strap in black colour. If you only want to wear the headlamp on a helmet, then we recommend purchasing the Fenix HP35R SARversion, which has an integrated helmet mount with NVG mounting and a non-flammable and anti-static rubber strap for work helmets.

It uses a 10000 mAh Li-ion battery for power, which is housed in a separate case on an adjustable cable. The case can be worn on the back of the neck, placed on a belt, in a pocket or backpack. This increases wearing comfort and in winter the batteries are better protected against frost. The battery case features a red light with up to 20 lumens of power, a charge indicator, and a USB-C charging connector. The USB-C charging connector also functions as an output, so the battery can be used as a power bank for charging your mobile phone, GPS navigation and other USB devices.

The headlamp offers a total of 12 power modes. In the lowest mode with 5 lumens, it provides an excellent battery life of up to 500 hours (i.e. more than 20 days). The body of the headlamp is made of aluminum alloy used in the aerospace industry, so excellent cooling and resistance to damage is ensured. This high-performance headlamp with separate battery is designed specifically for search and rescue operations, caving and work use, but will also be appreciated by ski mountaineers, mushers and enthusiasts of other extreme sports and outdoor activities.

All headlamp parameters (luminous flux, battery life, waterproofness, range, and shock resistance) are measured in accordance with ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009.

Parameters of the headlamp Fenix HP35R

  • It uses a powerful Cree XHP70 LED with a neutral hue of 4500K and two Luminus SST-20 LEDs with a warm hue of 3000K and a high CRI of 94.5, all with a lifetime of 50,000 hours.
  • Twelve lighting modes:
    • Remote reflector: 3000 lumens (5.7 hours) -> 800 lumens (11.7 hours) -> 350 lumens (28.4 hours) -> 50 lumens (120 hours).
    • Wide reflectors: 1200 lumens (8 hours) -> 400 lumens (30.8 hours) -> 50 lumens (120 hours) -> 5 lumens (500 hours).
    • Combination mode: 4000 lumens ( 4.3 hours) -> 1200 lumens (8 hours) -> 400 lumens (18 hours) -> 50 lumens (120 hours).
  • Combination mode produces a light cone with a range of 450 metres (50853 cd), the main beam illuminates up to 440 metres (48518 cd) and the wide beam illuminates up to 122 metres (3746 cd).
  • Digitally controlled for constant brightness.
  • Intelligent overheat protection and proximity sensor to avoid potentially dangerous situations.
  • It uses a 10,000 mAh Li-ion battery for power, which is built into a separate charging case with a rear red light.
  • Battery case, can be placed on the back of the neck, on a belt, in a pocket or backpack.
  • Charging via the modern USB-C connector. Charging time 2 hours with a USB power supply of at least 27 W.
  • Powerbank function - USB-C output for charging other USB devices with up to 20 W (PD3.0/PD2.0 protocols).
  • The battery case is equipped with a battery status indicator and a red light with flashing (5 lumens) and steady light (20 lumens) function.
  • The headlamp can be tilted in several steps to set the desired direction of light.
  • The body of the headlamp is made of aluminium alloy used in the aerospace industry.
  • Shock-resistant to falls from a height of 2 metres.
  • Weight of the complete headlamp 433 grams (including straps and battery).

Using the Fenix HP35R headlamp

The headlamp is switched on and off with the rotary switch on the right side. In the first position the headlamp is switched off, turning to the second position switches it to the main reflector mode, turning to the third position switches it to the wide reflector mode and turning to the fourth position switches on the combination of both reflectors. The power modes in each position are cycled by pressing a button on the side of the rotary switch.

The red light on the battery case is activated by holding the button on the battery case for approx. 0.5 s. The individual presses are then used to switch between flashing (5 lumens) and steady light (20 lumens).

Memory for last set power mode - the headlamp has a memory and will always turn on in the last set power mode of the selected reflector except for the highest power modes of the main and wide reflector, instead it will turn on in the second highest mode of that reflector.

The length of the cable connecting the headlamp to the battery case can be increased using the included extension cable.

Battery status indication - pressing the button on the battery case activates the battery capacity indicator (four lit diodes 80-100%, three diodes 60-80%, two diodes 40-60%, one diode 20-40%, one flashing diode indicates 20% remaining battery capacity).

Charging - flip off the rubber cap of the USB-C connector on the battery case and plug it into your computer, USB AC adapter or USB car adapter using the included USB-C cable. Alternatively, any mobile phone charger with a USB-C connector can be used for charging. During charging, the indicator LEDs on the battery case flash, after a full charge they are permanently lit. Charging a fully discharged battery takes about 2 hours using a USB power supply of at least 27 W. When using a weaker power supply, the charging time will be longer.

Activate the USB output (power bank function) - connect the device you want to recharge. Activation of the USB output is indicated by flashing LEDs on the housing.

Intelligent overheating protection - if the temperature of the headlamp rises above 55 °C, it will automatically start to reduce power until the temperature stabilizes. As soon as the temperature drops below 55 °C, the power is automatically increased again.

Intelligent power reduction - The headlamp has a built-in protection circuit. When the spotlight gets closer to the illuminated object (less than 60 mm) for more than 1 s, it will automatically reduce the power to low mode to avoid damaging the object with strong light and glare from reflected light. When the spotlight is moved away from the illuminated object, the headlamp automatically resumes the previously used power level. Smart proximity sensor on/off - Press the side button on the headlamp for 6 seconds when the headlamp is switched off. Turning on the function is indicated by the headlamp with two blinks in low mode. Turning off the headlamp function is indicated by eight blinks in low mode.

Notice

  • Do not disassemble the sealed parts yourself, this will violate the warranty.
  • If the headlamp is flickering, not switching to higher power modes, or not lighting up, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
    • The battery is dead - charge it.
    • Make sure that the connector on the cable between the headlamp and the battery case is firmly connected.

Warranty

Five years warranty on the headlamp and 2 years on the battery.
