Product description

Rechargeable battery Fenix 18650 3500 mAh (L18-3500U) with its own mico-USB charging connector. It can be charged by connecting the cable to the micro-USB connector (e.g. from a computer or mobile phone charger), but also in a classic charger. Li-ion rechargeable batteries are characterized by very high capacity, do not suffer from memory effect or self-discharge. Li-ion in the 18650 size are the best choice in terms of stored energy due to the size and weight of the battery.

Battery protection Fenix consists of internal safety mechanisms and protective electronics. The added electronic circuits prevent overcharging of the cell, over-discharging and against short circuit or too high current draw. If the battery electronics evaluate that the limit values have been reached, it will safely disconnect the cell.

The internal protection consists of a separator, overheating protection (PTC thermal protection) and a special explosion-proof valve. If the gas pressure in the cell exceeds a certain threshold, the internal electrode separator inside the battery separates the electrodes and thus de-facto interrupts the exothermic reaction and the explosion-proof valve discharges the gas overpressure outside the battery. Thanks to the combination of electronic and mechanical (temperature and pressure) protection, Fenix batteries are among the safest Li-ion batteries available.

The 18650 battery is roughly the size of two CR123A lithium batteries, which is why it is often used in lights as a rechargeable alternative to these primary cells. Check first if your appliance supports this article. This battery is designed for operation in e.g. LED luminaires Fenix E28R, E30R, Fenix E35 UE (not for E35 V3.0), PD32 V2.0, PD35, TK11 TAC, TK15, TK16 (1000 lm version only), TK25 UV, TK25 IR, TK25 Red, TK25 R&B, TK26R, TK75, FD41, LD30, SD11, SD20. LED headlamps Fenix HL55, HL60R, HP25R, HP30R, HM61R, HM65R, HM65R-T, lanterns CL26R, CL30R and bicycle lights Fenix BC21R and BC30.

Please note, due to the 70mm length and diameter it may not fit some old models - for example Fenix PD31, PD32 XP-G2, TK11, TK21, TK30, Zebralight, Solarforce. The battery is also not compatible with the Fenix FD65.

Charging via micro-USB connector

Plug the USB cable into the side micro-USB connector, the indicator light on the top of the battery will glow red during charging. It glows blue when fully charged.

Notice

• If you are using an older charger bought around 2014, first check that it will fit 69-70 mm batteries.
• If possible, do not discharge the battery below 2.5 V
• Do not short-circuit the battery (do not connect the cell poles with a wire)
• Do not throw the battery into fire or water
• Never insert the battery into the charger in reverse (opposite polarities)
• When using the battery, observe the safety principles
• Use only an adequate charger supporting Li-ion batteries
