The story of the CAMP brand is the story of the evolution of ice axes. The first one was forged by Antonio Codega in his father's workshop in Premana back in 1920. Then Cassin, Lowe or Kukuczka also entered the story, and the resolution is also that some of the lightest ice axes in the world are now produced in Premana. The Corsa Alpine is one of them. The local blacksmiths provided the ultra-light aluminium shaft with grinds that prevent the ice axe from slipping out of the hand. Then they inserted a durable steel head with laser-rusted holes into the shaft, and these helped reduce the weight of the entire ice axe to 265 grams (in length 55 cm). Which, for the record, is about the same as three Dyon express sets weigh. But to prevent this jewel from Premana from accidentally disappearing, for example, in a glacial crevasse, you should rather buy a leash. This fits it beautifully. Features: The rusted shaft fulfils the function of a spike. The nylon cap prevents snow from getting into the shaft. The narrowing of the tip to 3 mm facilitates penetration into hard snow and ice. A special small hole in the head serves to connect to the Corsa Leash lanyard. 13089 (type 1).Use: glacier hiking, alpinism, ski mountaineering.
