Thanks to its consistently excellent performance in racing, mohair has improved lubrication properties compared to other climbing skins. Molecular fusion, it works and remains adhesive even at very low temperatures indeed. It doesn't matter if you have a snow belt, a pine needle belt or a dirt belt - the belt is grippy no matter what. Another advantage of the strips when peeling off is that you don't have to use foil to protect the adhesive layer - you simply join the strips together and roll them up.
