Slip:
It is the most important feature of the riser belts. The easy gliding belts facilitate perfect movement technique, where you slide the skis on the snow rather than lifting them. This will save you a lot of energy, help you climb safer and easier, so you can enjoy the descents afterwards. The slip properties of the webs are determined by the length of the hairs/fibres, the angle at which the fibres are woven and finally the uniformity (smoothness) of each individual fibre. Those that glide better have a lower profile and are more closely trimmed.
Grip:
The belts are made to climb. That is their primary purpose. The fibres emerge from the belt at a certain angle, so that in one direction they slide on the surface and in the opposite direction they counteract the movement by increased friction. This allows ski mountaineers to climb steeper and safer.
Glue:
To work well, the belts must remain attached to the skis. This is the role of the adhesive. Ogso adhesive adheres excellently when wet, under high shear forces and with repeated use. The Ogso belts stick extremely well, yet are easy to put on the skis and easy to take off.
Slipping/sliding:
The impermeable layer prevents water from penetrating the webs, and the smoothness of each individual fibre reduces water pooling, so Ogso webs simply get less wet and dry faster.
Resilience:
The strips are woven extremely compactly and the use of microfibres in the weft and warp achieves the highest possible density. This makes Ogso belts very resistant to abrasion and at the same time they have more grip.
