Running shoes Inov-8 Rocfly G 390 GTX W - pine/teal/slate is a trail running shoe weighing only 390 g. Made for long distance treks. The ROCFLY concept builds on the successful TRAILFLY ultra-trail shoe and takes it into the world of long-distance trekking, speed hiking and fast movement in the mountains in general. Now also in a version with GTX waterproof membrane.

Just like TRAILFLY, ROCFLY stands on a massive G-FLY graphene foam midsole. Cushioning and comfort are undoubtedly the key and most desirable features of both running and trekking shoes. This is doubly true when it comes to long-distance trekking footwear, as there's nothing like keeping your feet as comfortable as possible as the kilometres add up. But when moving in the terrain, in addition to comfort, you need maximum stability and the ability to read the terrain to avoid sprains or falls. That's why we used the patented ADAPTER FLEX technology in the ROCLFY - a 10mm deep notch in the middle part of the cushioning that radically lifts the flexibility of the entire shoe and thus its ability to sense the terrain. The 6 mm drop also plays an important role here, supporting the natural working of the foot.

Another revolutionary innovation is the G-FLY cushioning foam. The world's first-ever damping material with graphene. Graphene is a Nobel Prize-winning material. 200 times stronger than steel, yet extremely flexible and extremely light. The combination of foam and graphene allowed us to achieve such high values in durability and energy return that many other shoes can not boast. We'd be hard pressed to find a better foundation for a shoe that aims to cover dozens to hundreds of miles over varied terrain.

The sole is based on the proven TERRA ULTRA concept. The basic shape of the staple is very similar, but their distribution differs. Our goal was to maximize the flex support of the entire shoe without sacrificing anything from a high-end grip designed for all-purpose trail. The ROCFLY is not afraid of long traverses on asphalt and will hold you up even over rocky scree or technical forest terrain.

The main differences between TRAILFLY and ROCFLY can be found on the upper. Unlike the TRAILFLY as a running shoe, the ROCFLY can afford to spare no materials for the sake of weight and focus entirely on promoting stability and durability.

The upper stays at the widest Standard hoof (width 5 out of 5 on our scale, with 5 being the widest possible fit), but instead of a lightweight fabric, it's made up of a highly durable structured knit. It breathes very well and dries quickly. Moreover, it accurately and comfortably hugs the foot with almost indestructible durability enhanced by the sturdy cast and reinforcement around the laces.The result is a highly durable and great-fitting shoe in which you don't have to worry about going hundreds of kilometres into the wilderness, where any material failure means a fatal problem.

The ROCFLY 390 version works with a medium-high mid-cut upper that perfectly stabilizes the foot. This can come in handy for a number of reasons: whether it's a backpack weighing several kilograms, accumulated fatigue or technically demanding mountain terrain, increased stability is an element that every hiker will appreciate sooner or later. In addition to stability, the higher chimney of the shoe also acts as a protection against dirt sinking inside the shoe.
