USB charger Fenix ARE-X2 (Li-ion, NiMH)
Product description
Compact dual-channel USB charger Fenix ARE-X2 for Li-ion and NiMH / NiCd batteries. When a charged Li-ion battery is inserted, it also functions as a backup power bank for charging USB devices (mobile phones, MP3 players and more). The charger is designed for 3.7V and 3.6V lithium-ion batteries and 1.2V nickel-metal hydride and nickel-cadmium batteries size AA, AAA. Each charging slot is monitored independently so that batteries of different sizes, capacities and even different materials can be charged at the same time (both Li-Ion and NiMH/NiCd can be charged at the same time).
USB charger parameters
- Two independently monitored charging channels, CC/CV charging algorithm.
- Two levels of charging current - 400 mA and 1000 mA. The charging current is selected automatically according to the length and type of the batteries.
- The following li-ion batteries can be recharged in the charger: 26650, 18650 li-ion, 17670, 18500, 18490, 18350, 17500, 14500, 16340, RCR123. High-quality rechargeable pencil and micro-chargeable batteries can also be charged.
- Protection against reverse insertion of batteries, short circuit, overcharging and too deep discharge.
- Charger weight 96 grams.
- Dimensions 115 x 63 x 30 millimetres.
- Included is a charger and USB cable.
- The charger can be supplied with a USB mains adapter or USB car adapter (not included).
USB output parameters
- When a charged li-ion battery is inserted, it also functions as a backup USB power supply for charging mobile phones and other USB devices.
- USB output parameters: 5V, 1000 - 1500 mA (depending on the strength of the inserted battery).
Charging the batteries
Plug the charger into your computer, mains USB adapter or car USB adapter using the included USB cable. A standard mobile phone charger with a micro-USB connector can also be used for power. Insert the discharged battery, then the LEDs will indicate the charging progress. If one LED is flashing, the battery is charged to less than 30%, one LED lit and the second flashing indicates a charge of 30% to 70%, two LEDs lit and a third flashing indicates a charge status of 70% to 95%. A full battery charge is indicated by all three status LEDs being steadily lit.
Charging USB devices (use as a backup USB power supply)
Insert a charged battery into the charger (only works with Li-ion type). Plug the USB cable into the USB output connector and connect the device to be charged. During charging (e.g. of a mobile phone), the indicator LEDs flash. When charging is complete or the source battery is discharged, the indicator LED goes completely off.
Battery charge indication
When the battery is inserted, the charger displays its current state of charge for three seconds. If one status LED is lit, then the battery is charged to 10% to 40%, two lit LEDs indicate 41% to 80%, and three lit LEDs indicate a charge of more than 80%. If no status LED is illuminated, the battery is less than 10% charged.
Notice
- Do not charge Li-ion cells that have gone through an over-discharge condition (below 2V).
- When using the charger, please observe the safety principles.
- We recommend using good quality batteries.
- It is not designed for charging LiFePO4 batteries.
